ABOUT
I'm Joyful Clemantine Wamariya, an international author, strategic connector, and the visionary founder of 10HOUSES. My journey embodies the power of human resilience and connection—from fleeing atrocities in my home country Rwanda to seeking refuge across nine countries, and finally finding another home in the USA.
A pivotal moment in my journey came in 2006 when, after 12 years apart, I experienced a life-altering reunion with my family on The Oprah Winfrey Show. This heart-stirring moment—what I call a "human family reunion"—witnessed by millions, became the catalyst that would shape my life's purpose.
Since then, my path has been one of continuous learning and transformation. I've served on distinguished national and intentional boards some through presidential appointment, pursued higher education in literature, delivered powerful speeches at global institutions, to advancing groundbreaking initiatives in technology, and gained international recognition as a voice for human connection and understanding.
Purpose As PRACTICE
My New York Times bestselling memoir "The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes After" offers an intimate window into this journey. More than a traditional memoir, it's an invitation to humanity—to feel, reflect, and experience a profound story of resilience and spirit. It serves as a bridge connecting my past experiences with my present vision for a more consciously connected and collaborative world.
What drives me to show up again and again is knowing that my journey and life experiences have equipped me to empower individuals and organizations seeking to forge meaningful connections, navigate cultural complexities, and create lasting positive change in our interconnected world.
